Bottrop offers a great number of exciting tourist locations that are absolutely unique in Germany: the Tetrahedron (a 50 metre tall steel construction from which you have a fantastic view over the Ruhr Area) on the former slag heap on Beckstraße, the breathtaking "Movie Park" with more than 40 attractions and a lot of entertainment, the "Alpine Centre" (the longest indoor winter sport facility in the world) and the baroque-style castle "Schloss Beck" with its lovely entertainment park for smaller children.
Bottrop's green sites are the perfect place to clear your head and leave your stress behind. Recharge your batteries in the various woodlands, green spaces, and natural reserves. In fact, more than half of the urban area of Bottrop is green. Hikers and horse and bike riders will find miles and miles of trails and paths in the Kirchheller Heide.
